Boultinghouse brings home scholarship

July 3, 2008
By Wynette Jameson of Clear Creek High School

Hayley Boultinghouse, HiLife editor and staff member for three years was chosen as one of only thirty Houston area teens to attend the month long workshop at the Houston Chronicle. She not only learned a great deal about the workings of a large metropolitan newspaper but also brought her own unique talents to the table.

Boultinghouse interviewed the iconic rock group ZZ Top and went on a variety of trips with other students as they shadowed reporters in and around Houston. For her efforts, she won a Houston Chronicle scholarship which is renewable on an annual basis. Read more at the Chronicle website Scholarship Story.

Boultinghouse could not wait to share the news with her journalism teacher, Wynette Jameson, "Ms. J,
I won the Chronicle scholarship!!! I wouldn\'t have been able to it without an amazing teacher like you. Thank you for all that you do."
